AIM104-386EX Development Kit

The AIM104-386EX Single Board Computer Development Kit provides users with everything needed to get quickly up-and-running with the AIM104-386EX Single Board Computer. In addition to the SBC, the Kit is supplied with the AIM104-386DB (the Development Kit Baseboard), which provides all the comms and power connections. It links to the SBC via the PC/104 bus connectors. All four COM ports are connected via the AIM104-386EX 50-way connector to the baseboard, which breaks them out to four D-type connectors. The baseboard also includes two user LEDs, a reset switch and a power input connector. Also included in the Development Kit is a mains voltage power supply (110 - 240V AC to +5V DC) which connects directly into the Baseboard. Two RS-232 null-modem cables are also included in the development kit.

The AIM104-386EX Module is pre-installed with Datalight’s ROM-DOS, a low-cost ‘workalike of MS-DOS, with extra features for the embedded environment.

A Quickstart Manual gives easy-to-follow, step-by-step guidance on how to set-up the Development Kit, and how to interface the Kit to the user’s Host PC.

The Development Kit CD contains a wealth of utilities, as well as datasheets of the Intel 386EX processor, and other ICs which are used on the AIM104-386EX module.

A Host PC is needed for development. The Development Kit CD-ROM has an auto-installation program, and in order for this to run, the Host PC must be running Windows 95, or above (98 or NT).

The Example ‘C’ Code and the Target Library Utilities contained on the Development Kit CD, have been written in Borland ‘C’ V4.52 (and are not compatible with V5.0).
