Software
Support: The
AIM104-CAN is supported with network drivers for Windows CE .NET,
embedded Linux and for legacy ROM-DOS systems. These have all been
tested using the AIM104-CAN running at 1Mb/s
on Arcom’s embedded PC and XScale platforms. Arcom also has extensive
in-house support for the DeviceNet protocol for use on master and slave
nodes and CANopen using third party vendors. Please contact Arcom’s
support team for more information.
Embedded
Linux:
Arcom uses can4linux
as the basis of the network drivers. The code base is available under
the terms of the GPL and is maintained by port
in Germany. The drivers support both 11 and 29-bit (PeliCAN mode)
identifiers for the SJA1000 and can be compiled for x86 (embedded PC
systems) and XScale/ARM based products. The downloadable
tar file includes several example programs to allow fast development
and adaptation of existing code.
This download supports both the 2.4 & 2.6 kernels.
Windows
CE .NET: Arcom has its own suite of interrupt driven Windows CE
device drivers which are loaded at runtime. These have been tested on
Arcom’s embedded PC and XScale based platforms running at 1Mb/s. The
drivers support both 11 and 29-bit (PeliCAN mode) identifiers for the
SJA1000 and are supplied with several examples programs to allow fast
development.
DOS:
Arcom can provide DOS based drivers, however, these will not be
maintained for the future.
