| Electromagnetic
Compatibility (EMC) |
|
|
 |
EMC is about the ability of different
electrical and electronic equipment to operate effectively in close proximity, without
causing mutual interference. Electromagnetic disturbance is defined as any electromagnetic
phenomena (and all electromagnetic frequencies) that may potentially affect the
performance of a device, a unit of equipment, or a system. |
| Arcom have been involved with
EMC for many years and has considerable experience of the electrical, electronic and
mechanical standards that formed the basis of the new European EMC
regulations. Without
these measures, the proliferation of electronic products (especially high-speed personal
computers and mobile phones) could quickly start to cause real and dangerous compatibility
problems. The new EMC standards are designed to encourage the free movement of goods
within an open European market, since varying national regulations have been
harmonized.
Each member country now has common EMC standards |
